		<description>NeXTSTEP, GNUSTEP, and Mac OS X have addressed some of these issues already. Take a look at [hdiutil][1]. Input options and the output can be specified with the [Property-list format][2], so you don't resort to grep to parse results. Though plist files are usually XML, the [defaults][3] editing tool hides that from you. You work with arrays, dictionaries, and atomic types (bool, int, etc). It all works together.
